Garden and terrace design Landscaping
In Hellange, Plantations Weisen designed a refined, green garden in harmony with the house's contemporary architecture. An interplay of Japanese steps, graphic flowerbeds and selected species creates a minimalist yet lively exterior.
Preparing the ground, drawing the lines
Before making way for the greenery, every detail was carefully thought out and executed. On this bare plot of land surrounding a house of resolutely contemporary architecture, our teams marked out the first landmarks, levelled the ground and prepared the future circulation routes.
The aim: to create a clear, legible structure that accompanies the house without overloading it.
Creating rhythm with Japanese steps
Japanese steps form the backbone of the garden. Their precise placement, both functional and graphic, creates a path that guides visitors towards the back of the house.
This path is punctuated by a plant border of hydrangeas and pennisetums, creating a contrast between the geometric structure of the path and the natural movement of the grasses.
Structuring the perimeter with planted beds
All around the boundaries of the garden, we have integrated high plants in generous beds, ensuring a strong visual presence, a certain level of privacy, and an overall coherence with the spirit of the place.
A strong focal point: Japanese maple
Planted in a sober planter, Japanese maple (Acer) plays the role of centerpiece. Its fine, colorful foliage is a natural eye-catcher, creating an elegant contrast with the surrounding mineral materials.
It becomes a visual landmark, a nod to Japanese aesthetics, while blending perfectly into this contemporary setting.
Useful touches: aromatic plants
Because a garden must also be practical and lively, a few aromatic plants have also found their place in the planter.
In addition to their fragrance and their usefulness in the kitchen, they add a friendly, more spontaneous note to this controlled composition.
A garden on a human scale, designed to last
On a modest surface, every choice counts. This project shows that a contemporary garden doesn't have to be vast to be successful.
Through a play of materials, volumes and textures, the exterior becomes a natural extension of the home. Refined yet warm, structured yet lively.
