Garden and terrace design Landscaping
Welcome to the Plantations Weisen design studio. For this inspirational project, we wanted to demonstrate how careful selection at our nursery in Luxembourg can structure an outdoor space from the very first days of spring.
The secret of a successful garden? Anticipate contrasting textures and harmonious colors.
🎨 Discover our three thematic boards for an exterior with character.
Plate 1: Purity and light
The "White glow" garden
This palette is ideal for illuminating shady areas or creating an elegant focal point near a terrace. It plays on the delicacy of petals and the clarity of early blooms.
- Magnolia stellata: Its starry flowers bring an incomparable luminosity to dark wood.
- Prunus 'Sunset Boulevard': A slender ornamental cherry covered with pure, immaculate white flowers.
- Snow Fountains' weeping cherry: a cascade of white flowers that fall to the ground, creating a sculptural volume.
- Laurel (Viburnum tinus): The structural ally with evergreen foliage, offering dense, luminous white blossoms.
- Marsault willow: Its soft green downy catkins add a soft texture, perfect for a natural transition.
Plate 2: Tenderness and poetry
The "Silk Clouds" garden
Here, we're looking for softness and movement. This board features generous blooms that transform the garden into a romantic cocoon.
- Magnolia soulangeana & liliiflora: The transition from soft pink to deep purple for a strong architectural presence.
- Prunus 'Kanzan' & Prunus pendula: The icons of spring, offering skies of pink flowers, whether upright or weeping.
Plate 3: Chromatic intensity
The "Highlights of the season" garden
This is the "favorites" section. We've grouped together the plants with the most saturated pigments to brighten up the garden after winter.
- Cercis chinensis (Hot pink): Pure originality. Its flashy pink flowers run the length of the wood, creating a fascinating visual break.
- Forsythia (Golden Yellow): The essential sunny glow. Its bright yellow blooms are the official start of the season.
- Camellia japonica (Fuchsia): Incredible intensity. Its fuchsia pink saturates the space and contrasts with its very dark glazed foliage.
Why do these boards work?
The eye of Plantations Weisen
An exceptional garden is not created by chance, but by a skilful blend of these plant palettes. At Plantations Weisen, our role is to advise you on the right mix:
- Balancing deciduous and evergreen: To keep the garden structured even after the petals have fallen.
- Play with ports: marry the verticality of Sunset Boulevard with the suppleness of a Weeping Cherry.
- Adapting to the soil: Each plant in our Luxembourg nursery is chosen for its robustness.
