16 February 2023 – Landscaping a city garden!

From the countryside to the city, our team's ambition is to transform spaces into places of life, pleasure and well-being. In April 2022, we were entrusted with the development of a small city garden located in Bergem for a family with two children.

BEFORE

This is what the field looked like before our team's intervention. An empty, bare space with a fairly large drop towards the street that did not invite much conviviality. It's hard to imagine that this simple piece of land will turn into a fabulous city garden.

After

The challenges

The realization of this garden required to take into account the constraints related to a reduced space and the vis-à-vis for this garden located at the front of the house and in edge of road. The client wished to optimize this outdoor living space into a welcoming, warm and "kid friendly" space with an outdoor play area.

Our landscape architect imagined a small terrace that could overflow onto the games area in order to offer a new outdoor living space that could accommodate a table for 8 people while maintaining the charm of a beautiful living space for our client.

The 3D plan

Here is the plan of the future project which will transform this small plot of 6m x 7.5 m with opposite into a sumptuous garden arranged to offer a convivial framework, protected for the children and with the shelter of the glances. Plan realized by our landscape architect.

The purpose

Thanks to the installation of a wooden deck, the garden has a privileged space to enjoy a ray of sunshine, a play area for children, a good book or a drink with friends!

A few steps...

1.

Separation of the entrance and the garden

For this garden located on the street side, our landscape architect chose a wooden screen and a plant hedge ready to be planted to separate the entrance of the house (on the right) and the garden.

Installation of a terrace

On the left side, a wooden deck has been installed that can accommodate garden furniture (and seating for up to eight people). This terrace naturally extends the interior living space by offering a new space of conviviality as well for the adults as for the children...

Installation of a plant fence

Finally, for the part of the fence facing the street, our landscaper chose high shrubs to hide the vis-à-vis and create an intimate and secure space.
